Sprouting

Sprouts are raw food.  They have live enzymes in them and they're very nutritious to eat. During the sprouting process, vitamins, minerals, proteins, and enzymes are produced at an incredible rate. Vitamin content at least triples with sprouting.  In wheat, vitamin B-complex and vitamin C increase by 600%.  I was very excited to learn about sprouting.  It's a great way to provide your family with the vitamins and nutrients in case you can't get fresh fruits and vegetables.  A GREAT FOOD STORAGE ITEM.

I started with Alfalfa-Plus mix on one side of my sprouting box and the Pro-Vita mix on the other.
I added one Tablespoon of Alfalfa-Plus mix into a bowl.
Then I added 3 Tablespoons of my Pro-Vita mix into another bowl and covered them with water, about an inch above the seeds. Set them aside on your counter to soak for 24 hours.
After 24 hours of my seeds soaking,I poured them into my sprouting box
and rinsed them with warm (not hot) water.

Place the lid on the box and set it somewhere on your counter.

You will want to rinse your sprouts twice a day.  I rinse them once in the morning and once at night. You can rinse them more than twice a day to speed up the process but you don't want to rinse them less then two times a day.

This is day one, you can see that they are getting some spouts going already.

These next two pictures are day two.  Looking Good!!

This was day three, the warmer the kitchen or area where you are sprouting the faster they will sprout.
I started eating them at day 3.
You can use them in soups, breads, sandwiches, salads, plain or what ever you can think of that might sound good to you.
I've attached a file for you to download on sprouting "A Basic Guide To Sprouting Seeds and Grain" it will give you more information on this process along with a sprouting table.   Have Fun.
P.S. If you don't have a sprouting box the basic guide has instructions on sprouting from a jar.
P.P.S.  Ok I can't see a place to download a document.  E-mail or call me and I'll get it to you.   Janeen

You will want to store your sprouted sprouts in the fridge after they sprout to where you want them.
